Family conflicts

“Deep inside us, we know what every family therapist knows: the problems between the parents become the problems within the children.”--Roger Gould
Family
Family is a group of people united by marriage, blood or adoption and share the same household such as siblings, parents, and children.
Family conflicts
Although family relationships are enough strong and there are innate love and affection among family members but sometimes conflicts arise due to some reasons which breakdown these strong ties and such conflicts can be sibling rivalry, poor communication, lack of planning, misunderstandings, etc.
When to Worry
Some family conflicts are short term problems and resolve with time making life lively again however if family conflicts last longer than usual and take severe forms they can be more problematic.
Major problems
- Misunderstandings
Misunderstanding can occur due to some other people who try to interfere in your family matters or sometimes when you hear a half part of the story from someone else and don’t even bother listening to what your family member on the other side has to say.
- Sibling rivalry
Sibling rivalry occurs when children get jealous of their sister or brother due to unequal attention, love, and responses and sometimes children get threatened by the newborn baby and feel like they are taking away their share of attention from the family. Children might think that because of them, they have lost their position and no one loves them anymore.
- Poor communication
Lack of communication causes problems in all relations. When people stay away from their family, rude behavior and lack of communication cause a family breakdown. Good communication makes your family happy and makes your bonding stronger. You need to keep the emotional attachment with your members alive through staying in touch with them even if you are miles away. Poor family relations can be the root cause of depression, anxiety, and stress.
- Lack of planning
Family planning is very important because most of the time children are the cause of conflicts in the family. Make sure you have a small but happy family. Poor or no family planning has a bad impact on women’s health and lack of family planning causes deaths of children and mothers. So, family planning is the most important part of the life of a married couple. You have to decide about your future planning, savings, and children, etc.
- Ignorance
If you ignore your family it will weaken your bonds and your family will be unhappy with you. It will divert your family members’ attention to other people like friends and relatives etc. As a result, they will also not like to spend time with you and this behavior also has a bad impact on your relationship with your family.
